2nd Season elk hunters were greeted with a lot of snow on Monday! Hopefully this keeps up all winter because we really need the moisture.

Well, it varied a lot depending on the situation. In the village (town?) of Jasper, it was between 12 and 18 inches I would guess. However, we were hunting which traversed different terrain and elevations between 9500 and 11000 altitude. I personally encountered waist deep snow in drifting areas in the National Forest not far from Jasper. I sure hope this is a sign of a snowy winter! we're looking forward to visiting often for snowmobiling, sledding and "quad boarding" in Jasper this winter. The temperatures are rising again, back to the 50s this week so I fully expect the snow to melt quickly for those hoping for a Jasper visit this fall. Hopefully Jerry and Kevin will start providing regular updates in the weather section soon. Godspeed for more moisture in 2021!
