FYI…
Rio Grande County is under a Stage One Fire Ban. Please follow all fire restrictions!
We did have a fire about 10 days ago in Jasper. It was put out with no damage to trees or structures, but we might not get that lucky next time.
Jasper residents need to know that outdoor fires in Jasper must be contained in an appropriate fire ring AND have a spark arrester or screen over the fire. No fires are allowed in Jasper without those requirements.
Jasper residents and visitors must also follow ALL County, State of Colorado, and US Forest Service rules and restrictions. Those rules supersede Jasper HOA rules. NO ONE is exempt.
Please don’t start fires, cooking or otherwise, on dry grass or around trees.
We enjoy sitting around a campfire too, but it’s not worth risking life or property.
I’ve included the actual fire ban and a visual chart put out by South Fork Fire.
Be safe!
