Hi Jan, sorry for the late response- I didn't see this earlier. Nope, I'm totally unfamiliar with any 55 gallon drums in the bank. Sounds intriguing. Someone start a new thread and post a picture of you can. We all love a good mystery!
I recall that Josh Gritters found some 5 gallon pails filled with "bug out" stuff buried on his property. Maybe something along those lines? If the drums are old, could be the remains of someones old outhouse.. It was common to bury a drum with holes to drain while maintaining the solid waste.

Hi Larry, Hey, do you know the story about the 55 gal drums (Phillips 66} that are buried in the river bank at the cattle pens? If you walk out in the river bed and look back at the bank you see them.
