A sixteen inch vein of gold quartz struck by Pearce and Goodhue. The figure is lost where the scan is cut.
A short wire item under the heading The Little Anna, datelined Jasper, 19 April. A vein of fine gold quartz was struck by Pearce and Goodhue in their Little Anna claim, sixteen inches wide.
The sentence that would tell us what it was worth runs off the bottom of the scan. It reads the entire vein brings and stops there. Whatever figure the News printed is not recoverable from this image, so nothing from it enters the ledger.
Note that this Little Anna is a Jasper claim. The Little Annie at Summitville, named in the 1896 Rocky Mountain News piece as having produced a large quantity of gold before 1885, is a different and much better known mine. The names are close enough to confuse and the two should not be run together.
