Opening Up the Jasper Mines, subtitled Work Is Being Actively Pushed on Senator Moody's Tunnel, datelined Jasper, 6 March.

Work had been commenced by Senator Frank Moody on his group of claims on Cornwall mountain. A large vein carrying galena and copper pyrites crosses the tunnel from its mouth, and recent assays show pay mineral running well in gold values. A ventilating plant had been brought in the day before. The work was under the superintendence of Clarence A. Moody, the senator's brother.

No figure is given, so nothing enters the ledger. The value of the piece is the date. The Monte Vista Journal of February 1899 describes Senator Moody returning to the camp one year ago believing the time had come to make another effort, and this is that effort, reported as it began.
