The year in review at Jasper. The Rio Grande-Nebraska company in the Miser tunnel, and B. F. Herr on Burnt creek.
A new year summary datelined Jasper, 1 January. The principal work accomplished at the camp during the year was that of the Rio Grande-Nebraska Mining company in the Miser tunnel on Cornwall mountain, and of B. F. Herr, the St. Joseph, Missouri mining man, on his large group of claims on Burnt creek.
Both properties can show good ore in their several workings, which is as close to a figure as the piece comes. A large plant of machinery was to be placed at the mouth of the Miser tunnel and air drills were being instituted. Frank E. Moody was forming a company to work claims on Cornwall and a concentrating plant was thought probable.
This is the earliest mention of the Miser tunnel by name in the collection, twelve years before the 1913 clippings that made it briefly famous.
