The Jasper Mining and Extraction Co. has spent a year blocking out ore and buys the Asiatic mine's equipment.
Miser Mine at Jasper Will Be Reopened, from the Monte Vista Tribune. Norman Ballantine of Denver, president of the Jasper Mining and Extraction Co., had come down from Denver and gone up to Jasper.
The company had been at work on the old Miser property on Cornwall for the past year blocking out ore bodies, cleaning up the old workings and placing the mine in shape for active operations in the spring, under the supervision of George Hook, who would thoroughly develop the property before attempting to break down ore. The company had bought the equipment of the Asiatic mine and teams were hauling the engine and machinery down to Jasper.
No figure, so nothing enters the ledger. The Antonito Ledger picks this story up twenty one months later with the same machinery and a different company name.
